Probably. I caught a glimpse of a NG leak ablaze in standing water during yesterday's news clips. ETA - ... and the local FD was on a building fire at the corner of Canal and Bourbon. |

I'm betting natural gas lines, propane, or gas station fires. The situation there seems to be getting more and more desperate, ad will only get worse. Much worse.

I can't make any sense of what's going on either. MSNBC has said there was an explosion at the Superdome. CNN is talking as if there were multiple explosions and fires at various points around the city. But it's being mentioned while talking about security issues. So I have no idea what's up. Guess we'll learn later in the morning.

OK, just to update my own post, CNN is saying this is happening around a railroad yard in SW NO. So this is probably a chemical situation of some sort, not violence. A HAZMAT team is trying to reach the area.
