Living on a lake is nice, until you're up around dawn getting ready for bed. There are atleast 10 different birds singing right now, geese, two wood peckers that I can hear outside my house somewhere, coyotes were howling up until an hour or so ago, I hear crickets and bullfrogs. I honestly feel like I live in the rain Forrest. The worst part is, it's happening at such a pace that it's all just blending together. Really, you need to sing the same song bird? "weeeeeeeeear her" Up until about 20 minutes ago there was a fisher cat making noises like a baby being set on fire, and i'm pretty sure I just heard a fucking elephant. Give me winter back.

Someone come over and rid me of this nature, I need to get some sleep. Please use a suppressor so I don't wake up, i'll leave a bulk pack on my front porch.

Why the fuck do wood peckers peck? To be annoying? Seriously, i'll lend him my fucking drill, atleast it will be quicker.

Meh, after living in cities my whole life I wouldn't even be bothered by your situation.

A feral dog has joined the party and is now barking at lord knows what, probably the wood pecker. This is like a disney movie gone horribly wrong.
Link Posted: 4/29/2009 1:51:23 AM EDT
Better than hearing Honda Civics drive by with their lawnmower exhaust while blaring rap all night. Which of course set off a few sensitive car alarms that take no less than 5-10 minutes to be turned off.

Quit yer bitch'n.

Ghetto bird is now flying over my complex and I hear a bunch of sirens heading in this direction.

You're really gonna have to come up with something louder to make me feel sorry for you.

Go out and fire off a few rounds of something.  It will shut them up long enough to get a couple seconds in.

Stand by for some pretty epic shit about to go down in GD.

Napalm works on a variety of animals, and will do a good job of creating a stand-off distances from the woods to your house. Cyanide in the lake will keep any water dwelling animals away. YMMV.

Holy crap Dude, COUNT YOUR FUCKING BLESSINGS!
I get to hear Harleys, Trucks, POS Fart can ricers, Redneck exhaust idiot and his heavy foot. etc...etc...

I live in the city and it SUCKS! I miss the country so bad. I love to listen to the peeper frogs this time of year.

And yeah, be happy you get to hear nature. I hear sirens every night multiple times. Living right down the street from a hospital sucks sometimes.

Yea this sucks 4:50am and i'm wide awake.
Link Posted: 4/29/2009 3:53:00 AM EDT
I have two words that describe my sinuses and eyes.

Fuck

pollen.

Continue.

Seriously, I have lost more sleep due to this dreadful stuff invading my nose and eyes than to anything else.

About an hour after I fell asleep last night, something bit me on my temple.  I have no idea what it was, never found it, but it burned like hell and I can still feel it just a tiny bit this morning.  All night after that, I was paranoid that some stupid bug was crawling on me and I was going to get bit again.

About a dozen cardinals wake me up about 3 minutes before the alarm goes off in the morning, but I'm supposed to wake up anyway so no complaints there.

Here's what you do. Go  outside and hug a tree.

Seriously.

It won't do a damned thing for your situation, but it'll amuse the hell out of the critters.
Link Posted: 4/29/2009 4:43:30 AM EDT
I'd grab the 12ga, run out the door yelling "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" And promptly follow that up with about two rounds into a nearby tree.

I'm sure they would be quiet long enough for you to fall asleep.

Similar issues here: I live in the 'burbs but there's wetlands across the street. Between the peepers and the birds and the early sunrise, I rarely get past 5:30 AM. But I'm ok with it.

If your pecker was hard all the time wouldn't you beat it on a tree ?
Link Posted: 4/29/2009 6:46:59 AM EDT
Get a small room fan –– good background noise.

If that doesn't work get some good earplugs.
Link Posted: 4/29/2009 6:49:53 AM EDT
Beat off.

It will help you sleep
Link Posted: 4/29/2009 6:51:58 AM EDT
The birds are definitely manic this time of year, but I'm used to them.

The worst is when the woodpecker pecks on the house.  It gets all pissy when I step outside and yell at it though, and goes away.

Beats the hell out of screaming girlfriends, blaring televisions, and pimpmobiles.
Link Posted: 4/29/2009 7:02:46 AM EDT
At least you don't have to listen to an army of guys named Pedro with leaf blower backpacks walking all over the place making all kinds of racket.
Link Posted: 4/29/2009 8:54:11 AM EDT

That's what I ended up doing. Normally I'm thankful to be out of the city, but this morning it literally sounded like a rain forrest. It drove me absolutely insane.

I ust moved to the country from the city. The peepers and the birds are music to my ears.

Anyway, shut your windows and turn on a fan.

I just flashed back to an episode of Happy Days, early 80's? Fonzi and the gang are camping, animals are making to much noise, Fonzi yells "Hey!", and the animals all shut up.

I'm going to give that a shot. The geese have started, I'm waiting on the wood peckers.

Reminds me of an old comedy album where was there was a heavy cacophony of wildlife sounds and the guy was shouting to his visiter that "HE LOVED THE PEACE AND QUITE!"

Drink heavily, it is the night aid for most humans.

Shit, the sun is about to rise here for me and I still have a few bottles left to drink.

Yea, I am up to about a 12 pack now, doesnt show cause it is like 0400 here and here I am after watching a movie on my new monitor. joy...

Odd , I never call in sick for work. Einstien was right, the human body really doesnt need more that 3 hours sleep at night.

Guess I should be free to drink more beer prior to bed now! Sweet!!!
