Molon Labe "sp?" mean? I usually just try to stay in the Survival forum, so I dont have a clue what this means.

Uhm, didn't the Persians end up "taking them"? If I recall correctly, the greeks that stood and fought at Thermpylae (sp?) were killed to the man.

The actions of 300 Spartans and about 1000 other Greek heros at the week long siege of Thermopylae galvanized the rest of the Greek states into organizing a resistance against the Persian invader. 50,000 Greek infantry, with a spear head of 8,000 Spartan Peers took on a Persian force of 250,000 at the battle of Platea, and kicked their asses. The Persian supply line had been cut by the Athenian navy at the battle of Salamis, and the invaders were forced to withdraw.

The Spartans, though slaveowners and socialists in the extreme, were unbelieveable warriors.
