Franklin County is Columbus.

Big university town, but residents tend conservative.

Columbus metro, mostly Democratic, unfortunately.

Not really, that is where I'm from and I would say more liberal 60/40

Well... I'm hearing the talking heads say it will boil down to this county, for Bush to take Ohio.

Columbus is the Financial and Government center of Ohio as well as the State Capitol. Lots of white collar types. The outlying areas are rural church going types. I'd have to give the edge to the Republicans.

FNC said 3/4 of Franklin Co. are in, so it shouldn't make too much difference anymore.

Ohio will go Bush.

Franklin is pretty close to a tie.
It is Columbus Ohio, but includes many suburbs.
Even farmland is in Franklin Co.
And most OSU students (55,000 undergrads - vote at home or absentee)

ETA: color me a little over optimistic...

Franklin Co 82.36% reported
Kerry, John F. Democratic 222,519 52.18%
Bush, George W. Republican 201,772 47.31%

I would consider Columbus a giant suburb with a Downtown...sure it has bad areas, but it isn't anything like Detroit or Cleveland. If a "big" city could be conservative or even, Columbus is it IMHO...

All kind of liberal bastards around where I live(Near Cleveland) from what I have heard most of central and southern Ohio are Right wingers.

My girlfriend and I (+2 for bush)

I see many more Bush stickers on cars than sKerry stickers as I drive around Columbus.

Giant Plus one.

It isn't uncommon for me to count 12 Bush to 3 Kerry on my way to work.
Yeah, I've been counting for a few weeks.

How bout Cawahouga county?????????

Holy cow...now they saying....

How is Cowahouga?? Is it Dem.

It's about cuyohoga not franklin. Cleveland is very Democrat. It only has like half precincts in so it is where the swing could come from. I'm about 45 miles from cleveland and I hate that city, very anti-gun.

Don't sweat it. The ratio is close enough to not make a big difference statewide.

Very true, most of Cleveland is Democrat. From what I understand many have not voted in Cleveland or have left due to long lines(4 hours+)

Hopefully that will work in Bush's favor

If the percentages in cuyohoga stay where there at right now with only 1/3 of the precincts in. Once all the precincts are in kerry could pretty easy pick up 100,000 votes there alone.

Damn, anyone else have butterflies in their stomach? I am nervous as hell, being a young man(22yrs. old) I feel that the outcome of this presidential election will have a big influence on my future(Will have my BA in MLR and plan to move to Scottsdale, Arizona)

If kerry wins they will rape me even more on taxes, amazing to believe a kid in college who makes more than 25,000 a year is considered very financially secure......bullshit.

It's all about that damn county.

52% reporting.

If it stays as is, at 100% Kerry will gain 90,000 votes.
Link Posted: 11/2/2004 6:54:47 PM EST
damn, I just pulled up a county map of Ohio, holy crap, you guys have a lot of counties.
It's wierd for me, a Native Arizonian because we only have like 15 counties for the whole state.
