Damn those things are wicked!

I wonder if they'll depreciate over the next 10-20 years like most cars,or if they're instant collectors since they're so darn good lookin, and really the only true American exotic(Big Three)...plus the nostalgia involved with this auto?

Must be some kinda bad ass dealership to get a lineup like that.

I wouldn't be picky. Ill settle for the one that they decide to give to me.

Instant classic.  I believe, Ford has already stopped production.

February 3, 2006

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) - The Ford Motor Company will end production of the $150,000 Ford GT high-performance sports car this year after two model years.  The car was intended for a short run, according to Ford. The end of production this year is timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the famous first, second and third place finish of the original Ford GT40 cars, on which the car is closely modeled, in the 1966 LeMans race.

The MSRP is 150K, but you won't actually be able to buy one at that price unless you know somebody.

In Car Craft a couple years ago, there was an aticle something like this.

Customized and Fully Loaded Ford GT: $200,000
Two new performance tires: $600
White smoking 'em on the parking lot for the staff of Winters, Smith, and Mitchell FLM...priceless.

Under it was a guy just roasting the tires of his brand new GT. It was golden.

Some guy wrecked on of those a while back. Totalled it. Not as bad as the guy that wrecked the Enzo.

Instant collector car, definitly.

My local Ford dealer had one like the white one on his showroom floor for about a week. It wasn't for sale, it went into his personal car collection. Even if it was for sale the average Joe in my area probaly couldn't afford the sales taxes & insurance, let alone the sticker price of $167k!

The Ford dealer in Charlotte had one too, but it wasn't for sell either.

I could be given one,and I doubt I would be able to even afford the taxes on it.

While I despise Fords and their craptacularness...

I gotta say those are some very nice cars.  I wouldn't mind having one of those babies.

The blue one for me.

Paying $150,000+ for a fucking FORD is the gayest thing I've ever heard period.

I just took delivery of my '06 WRX and can tell you that you'd be grinning from ear to ear driving that beast up a winding canyon road.

Until an original Shelby Mustang screamed buy you, and you instantly had car envy. And BTW, THEY can be had for less than $150K.

I'm gonna have to diagree with ya there.  As an all-around, reasonably priced car, it's hard to beat.  Name another car that can match it's performance and utility (4 door, AWD, trunk, very safe) for the same or less money.  Is there one?

Pour tens of millions into a project, and of course it will. Unfortunately, the jack offs at Ford can't seem to build a quality car these days for a reasonable price and one which will last.

$150K or $1M, it's still a Ford.

BTW RobarSR60,

The car you speak of comparing it to a WRX is like apples to oranges. I HIGHLY doubt that Shelby mustang can even try to hold a candle to a WRX on a WRC type race circuit. Driving fast in a loop or straight line isn't all that impressive, to me anyway.

Yeah,I heard they're not making them cause they can't meet future saftey standards or some other such nonsense.

But I think they're making 2-3000 of these things aren't they?

Not exactly "rare"....
