Actually, he's the guy whose artwork inspired Aliens in the first place, IIUC. He then designed the alien, the ship, etc.

Twisted fothermucker!

Anyway, rather than posting the pics, here's a link. Most of the pics are wallpaper-grade.

Enjoy!

I thought I remember him actually being involved in the film.

And much as I loved the movies that guy is fucking deranged.

There was a guy that painted his Edge 540 in that style in Custom Planes magazine a few years back,  tried google'n it and didn't have any luck,  It was wicked looking though.

Well, since we've strayed off the Giger stuff, here's another link to my favorite Civil War artists. I have several prints by Kunstler. Love those things almost as much as my guns.

I used to work at a furniture store, and we sold oak picture frames with copies of Kinkaid in them.  It was amazing how many people bought those.

I actually have 3 framed H.R. Giger posters up in my room.  They tend to creep people out.

Wow. I had flashbacks to 1982, looking at "Omni" magazine. Or as my chemist friend called it, "Omni: Science for druggies."

Geiger can create some really twisted/disturbing stuff.

Hi guys. HR Giger is my dad.
No not really. Yes he is a twisted bastard but he has some nice art. There is a nice Alien art book with a lot of his concept works. He's very sexual when it comes to his pieces. For example the alien head looks sorta like a penis and the eggs from which the facehuggers hatch have tops that look like a vagina.

I'm just apsolutely stunned that someone here knows The Dead Kennedys!
Not a reformed punk rocker are you?

(BTW: Jello Biafras anarchist views really struck me as a kid, now he's a poster boy for the Green Party...What a fucking shame.)

My current favorite, a 1998 piece of art based on the Statue of Liberty melded with the TERMINATOR and rereleased after 9-11.

H.R.Giger really is a dark genius...

Something SO otherworldly about his style.
His art has a translucency to it that makes it seem, well...alive

I love it!

I thought most anyone 35-40 had at least heard of them?

I've seen them twice live. The last time was about 80-81. I liked East Bay Rays guitar style back then (I belive he played a 9 string guitar or something weird like that).

Not a reformed punk rocker are you?

I wasn't as much into the punk scene as I was into the rock scene (any rock), and club scene at the time. I really didn't associate well with the hard core punk crowd (most were area college students and art school types anyways). I was an early metal-head with long hair halfway down my back and I wore faded bluejeans and a tee shirt when most others (not counting the Ramones), had stylish short hair and were wearing parachute pants.

This was in Boston from about 1978 to 1984. I was fortuante enough to catch quite a few bands playing in small clubs that would later go on to playing major arena and sports stadiums.

Fellow Dead Kennedys fan in the day.

And I'm only 31, does that mean I was retro?

Did an art project in pen&ink of the guy on the "Give me Convenience or give me death" album cover:

It was either stipple or crosshatch, can't remember.  It's probably in the attic somewhere.

I am impressed.
Growing up on DK, Black Flag, Subhumans, ChaosUK, The Exploited, The Buzzcocks, etc. etc., and most of their anti-gov/anarchist views, a gun board was the last place I thought I would see this reference.

FWIW, I actually have an original 'Frankenchrist' album with that poster still inside!

Back on topic, Geiger is a twisted, mentally deranged, sick mo'f'ker.
I like him.

You'd be surprised then. There's quite a few of us older than dirt folks here that listened to and enjoyed that era of music. As far as views back then I didn't have any. I just wanted to party, bang heads and get laid.

Now I just take naps, post on the Internet and masturbate.

The anarcists here can usually be found posting in "The JBTs shot my dog", "gun confiscation", and anything with "BATF" in the subject line  threads.
