I just bought 1/4 of a cow and had them give me a 6 lb rib roast (boneless).

The cook was amazingly simple.  Cup of butter, salt, pepper, minced garlic and rosemary.  Rubbed the roast with that concoction and baked it at 500 degrees for 7 minutes per pound.  Then just turn the oven off and let it sit for 2-3 hours.



Made gravy from the drippings and a homemade horseradish sauce.  Yes, this will be a permanent Easter tradition.

It's a great method to cook rib roast. Great work on the whole thing OP.

I still do it, despite the smoke and the fact that theres always a few in the crowd that want WELL DONE. Theirs gets tossed back in the (not hot) oven for a while or cooked in the gravy.

They're happy either way, so whatever
