Oven cleaner makes a great paint/oil/coosmoline/blueing remover for anything steel.

I collect and restore old military vehicles, and finding the orignal markings under many layers of paint is important for restoring the vehicle as original as possible. Oven cleaner will strip just one layer of paint at a time so it works well for this.

Malox is a great anti-sieze for bolts, spark plugs etc.

Pepper and/or raw eggs will plug a leaking radiator.

Carberator cleaner and starting fluid work well for cleaning your guns. Asprin broken up and placed in battery cells will clean the filements to prolong the life of a bad battery. Baking soda and water work well in nuteralizing acid, or cleaning battery posts. Flour, salt, and water make clay dough.

I'm told Mobil1 makes for a dandy CLP in a pinch. Some guys swear by it on their guns.

Add a tablespoon of pure Vanilla extract to a gallon of paint to cover the nasty paint smell. Great for winter painting...IF you like vanilla
