My old Norelco shaver broke down today.  Their new Sensotouch line looks nice but isn't cheap.  Also, it apparently can't be run on AC power - if the battery dies you have to charge it for several minutes before you can shave, which is annoying.  However, this also means if the battery is damaged you can't use the shaver at all.   That's troubling because I see numerous people reporting that their battery was damaged by "over charging" for just a few hours.

Anyone have experience with these?  Is the battery really a problem?   Any other brands good?

I have had mine for a year without any problems. Use it five times a week and charge it once every three to four weeks.
Charge time ranges from thirty minutes to an hour. It does say do not overcharge. If I have to leave I just take it off and
put it back on when I get home. I haven't even changed the blades yet, but I expect to do that in a month or so.
