You'll never find, another Mauser like mine.
 Attached File1928 Oviedo. Bought at gun show when I was 14 for $25 bore was completely shot out. Sat in my closet for years until I finally met a trustworthy gunsmith who rebarreled it and helped me turn it into this. I wanted something tactical and this was as tactical as I could afford/was possible at the time. Still chambered in 7mm, sub MOA accurate. |

Remington XP100, originally 7mm BR but the brass was hard to make, then rechambered to 7mm-308 by IHMSA but brass life was short because the BR chamber was a little larger in diameter and where the old chamber ended it caused a step in the brass and finally to .284 Winchester by SSK, now it shoots good an the brass life is good. used it handgun metallic silhouette for many years , now it is just a range toy.

I used to have a Springfield Armory 1911 that had a "self-lubricating" painted finish: Fire engine red frame, powder blue slide, and trigger, safeties, bushing, mag and slide releases were silver.
It was in the box and marked as such. I picked it up in a small bait and tackle shop. I traded it to a gun shop 25 years ago. I've never seen another and Googling hasn't been successful either. I asked Dennis Reese about these 1911s 15 years ago while at a dealers' show when I worked at a LGS. He told me there were "less than 100 made" because "they looked too much like toys and the industry didn't like it". |
