I just bought a 2006 Nissan XTERRA 4x2. I did a little bit of research and it seamed to be a realy good deal. The thing I really love is the styling and the engine.(265HP, 284FtLb Torque)

Does anyone here own one that would care to toss in their two cents, good or bad.

OK , I'm ready...

Get the 4x4 if you can.

In this area 4x4 is rarely needed and I couldn't see paying the extra thousands for the vehicle and insurance for something I would never use.

I love the power of the 4.0 liter V6 ... When you push the accelerator it will go !

I traded in my 2003 4x4 SC for my current (well, my wifes) 2005 4x4 Off-Road. Love my X. Decent power, capable in the dirt and on the street. The only problem I have had are a few interior squeaks and rattles that have developed. Other than that, zero problems at about 11,000 miles. Did yours come with the Vehicle Dynamic Control? I turned mine off in the rain the other day and drove aggressively on some empty roads to see how it works. All I can say is with its short wheelbase, high center of gravity, plentiful torque and no VDC, be very careful in the rain. If you lose control, you will bite off more than you can chew. With it on, you could not lose control if you tried. You could, but you would have to do something extremely stupid.
