And Nokishita has supposedly confirmed an announcement date of 23 August. So... another month of rumors, slow leaks, and teasers.

Nikonrumors is wondering if this might be a medium format. The mount is absolutely fuckmassive. Something like 88mm which would fit a medium sensor perfectly.

Personally that would be a weird step IMO.

Someone estimated the visible mount size as 65mm by extrapolating the hotshoe measurement. That 65mm is right at the approximate 65mm exterior diameter previously leaked, with an also-leaked opening of 49mm. This allows for the mount of fast lenses (f/0.95) and room for IBIS movement for the FF sensor.

Personally, I think the body will be Sony-sized or slightly larger, with a deeper grip and controls placed in a manner to address some of the issues people have with Sony controls, possibly a larger battery in the larger grip, larger lens mount for faster native lenses.

I can't wait to see what Nikon has been cooking. I hope they knock it out of the park. Competition is good - gives more options and drives innovation.
