Take that shit to General discussion. Some of us have thousands of dollars wrapped up in our gear and simply want to be better photographers and don't want to listen to your feels.

Yup, I had hoped GD would stay in GD.

That GD thread is just *facepalm* My arguments against groupthink are in that thread, I'm not dragging it in here.

I've never tried it on a DX body, but on my D850 it's a damned good lens. Sure, it's not as beefed up and insanely durable as the 180-400mm f/4, but it's 1/10th the cost too. Fantastic lens for the money.

I added it to my cart but B&H was out of stock and now I'm hesitant on ordering it.

I had a few issues with my 500 which i think we've narrowed down to the battery grip. Even in single shooting mode, sometimes it goes haywire and will rapid fire until i shut the camera off. It has never done that without the grip on. I wonder if i just need a new one?

D750 is tempting me. The package with the 24-120 lens possibly also, although I don't know anything about that lens.

Whom could argue with such a well-reasoned, logical & thought out point of view?

I've got one & just LOVE it!

For walking around with just one lens, it covers a lot of needs.

Seems like I split between a 24-70 and longer lenses when doing model/portrait type stuff, so the focal length range is pretty attractive, although I'd prefer 2.8. If the sharpness is good it'd be pretty handy.

What I don't like is that there is no big battery for the D750's battery grip.

The 24-120 is an AWESOME lens. FX, but works just dandy on DX sensors.
