That this is sporting a muslim style beard? That he has been wandering into crappy third world countries for several years?  The beheading post, has a link to a website from his family that said he disappeared in March looking for a "safe route" to Jordan.  It just sounds like he was a little bit "off", he went alone to Iraq of all places to try and sell cell phone equipment.

I am not even saying he deserved what they did to him, or that those animals do not deserve to burn in HELL.  Going to Iraq to seek your fortune selling cell phones in the ghetto may not be a good idea.  Maybe this will slow down the AMWAY crowd and the tree-huggers heading in to help these creepy bastards.

This is a shithole country than is for the most part populated by animals.  They were killing themselves and their neighbors for decades before they got us involved, they have killed every leader they ever had, they kill each other in religous celebrations.  The only reason anyone really gives a shit is that they have a large chunk of the worlds oil supply, if they were smart enough to pump it to the border by themselves nobody would have to even set foot in that place.

According to his family this "moron" was a pro-Bush Republican who supported the War in Iraq.

Uh, for those who didn't catch it, this man did NOT disappear yesterday. He has been missing for a month or more and I doubt that the Muslims would let him shave

Blending in has NOTHING to do with it. They made him grow that beard. The last photos of him the family have are of him clean shaven and wearing a crewcut like a GI.

I just happen to think this is unfoldong a little weird.

Saddam is not going to live much past June 30th, if some people have their way. He will be another in a long list of Iraqi leaders that did not survive long after they left power.

Nothing wierd about the timing at all.  Al Queda is good at playing the media and releasing such things at a time when they think it will do the most good for their cause politically.  The timing is to show it's not really Al Queda's fault but the US for the humiliation of Iraqi prisoners and Al Queda is really a power in Iraq to be dealt with.   They expect us to do no different than we are while they gain prestige in the Arab world.  Even who they picked, I'm sure was carefully scrutinized to influence world opinion.  Remember this was as much for the Arab world if not more than for the non-Arab world.

So far, they are getting what they want.

BTW, suggest you get out of France.  You are starting to think like them.

Yes. he made a very bad decision, called entering into a WAR ZONE. He therefore falls under military justice. Didn't anybody remind him of that while he was over there, as if the sound of gunfire alone wasn't enough to clue him or anybody in?

He was asked, after he was released from Iraqi/US detention (they were afraid he was another Taliban Johnny), if he wanted to go back to the US. He said no. Another bad decision.

You guys (you know who you are) are cracking me up. I have never heard so many Monday Morning Quarterbacks in one thread. "I'd do this" and "I'd say that". More like, "I'd be begging for them to not to cut off my head." "I'd be crying like a little bitch." You're killing me.

How come you guys don't take a trip down the the local recruiting office and put your money where your big mouths are?
- "I was in and had to get out for medical for my broke dick..."
- "I would but I'm too old now... I always wish I did though..."
- "I have a bad knee/back/shoulder/eye/ear..."
- "I would but I'm just a fat plug who thinks war is exactly like it is in Rainbow Six..."

As for the guy who started this thread... none of the key points he made were even addressed because everyone is too busy pointing out the French thing or the whole facial hair issue because everyone, on top of being Airsoft Delta Force Ninja, they are also highly trained intelliengence analysts who can clearly unravel all the mysteries of the world... after the book has been written a year later.

I try not to swallow everything whole that the media spoon feeds me because all of the facts have been filtered out by the liberals. If what he is saying is true, which might be more than what we hear on our TV's if he's in France since they don't have a media that is structured either around anti-Bush liberals or Pro Bush-consrvatives, then it seems VERY odd that this guy was going to Iraq to do any kind of business. Yes I know they aren't exactly pro-American over there, but odds are their media is a little more neutral than what comes out of Iraq or the US.

While the video was extremely disturbing, I'm trying to keep an open mind about it. Odds are all the facts may never be in on this one, so of course people in here are going to speculate as much if not more than the media about the circumstances that put him there in the first place. Some may say he was wandering around tyring to join them like that other ass clown that we captured in the Stan, but it got botched up since her overlooked the fact that they decided a while back that anyone American is dying... period. He may have gone there and told them he was on their side and was willing to die for their cause... which to them meant using him as a prop in their little globally syndicated snuff film. Some say he was a legitimate businessman who was terribly misguided in his goal to bring the world together with wireless communication. Either way you have to be a little suspect as to what put him over there in the first place.

No matter how you cook it though the whole thing stinks. It spells out pretty clearly that somone needs to rethink our tactical stategy over there if anyone plans on coming out of there on top.

However, this is just my opinion...

I'm still trying to decide if the video sickened me, pissed me off, threw me into a violent rage like never before or what. I think all of the above. I can respect the sentiments of those who want to go over there and kill everything. I seriously wonder why we never dropped a nuke over the Middle East - just for general purpose. Oh thats right - politically correctness in its highest form.

I also know a lot of friends over there that would like to get the fvck out of Baghdad. I know females who have been in a combat zone for almost 16 months now. (Thank Klinton and years of equal opportunity bullsht for that). I know career types with 15 plus years who want out. And they were the "hardcore" types - the career types who lived for whatever sht the Army through at them. Its easy to fight a war from a Lazy-Boy with a case of beer watching Fox News. Most of us have done it at some point. But its a LOT different over there. I'm not some special forces type - nor do I claim to be.  I haven't met one person coming back from Baghdad who was happy. This war is a complex one - not a simple video game where the good guys wipe out the bad guys.

Our Commander in Chief is sold on the "nation building" concept for Iraq and Afghanistan - may be well-meaning but does ANYONE except us to build a nation in a nest of venomous animals called "muslims"? Nation Building is a waste of time, resources, and more importantly lives. We weren't losing very many American lives when we bulldozed through Iraq. But when we decided to stay - things changed. Fvck Diplomacy and whatever the United Nations, European Union, World Trade Organization, and NATO wants us to do. We went there to do a job -  Iraq is no longer a threat, we got Saddam - pull the fvck out. Rebomb Iraq if they want to - I don't care. But why the fvck are we hanging out to build schools, ice skating rinks, shopping malls, etc. What kind of bullsht is this? I thought we left that bullsht in the Balkans. I'm not sure of the use-of-force/rules of engagement over there but I wouldn't be surprised if they are pretty lame. Just like they are everywhere.

I'm not shocked that this happened to Nick Berg - given the circumstances. I'm shocked by the savagery - I thought I had a high tolerance for seeing violence. I'm not surprised only because he travelled from Iraq through the Middle East on his own during dangerous times. In the past, the Muslims might have "only" kidnapped him - but there are some sick and twisted fvcks out there. I would have at least had some firearm - of course the DOD prohibits civilians in country from having firearms. Maybe a firearm wouldnt have helped - maybe it wouldn't - but I'd shoot them ( and maybe myself) before someone cut off my head. He was a non-combatant but over the years many non-combatants went armed in war zones.

None of us can effect the politics surrounding the war in Iraq or directly effect the media - not as one man or even a small group. Letters-To-The-Editor might have some small effect but thats it. The war isn't  100% good or bad - its complex as hell. What we NEED to be doing ( those of us in CONUS) is to be writing letters, emails, and sending care packages to the people over there. 16 months is a LONG time to be stuck in a shithole like Iraq. I know the USO delivers care packages and I'm sure there are other groups like the VFW doing this. Some Marines who went over there near the beginning of the war are being sent back for Round 2. And we still have troops in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Macedonia, and other shtholes around the globe. Not sure how Haiti is going - but I know a lot of US military personell were evacuated out of Haiti in this latest "peacekeeping" effort. Naturally - since France couldnt take care of Haiti.

That is pure uninformed genius. That would be like operating to cut out a brain tumor and as soon as it's removed telling the patient to take it from there. Leaving now almost guarantees that country will fall into chaos, and given our penchant for helping people in need (and fearing the repercussions of leaving there again without tying up loose ends) it is in our long term interest to finish what we started. Add to that that there are still WMDs buried somewhere in the neighborhood it's essential that we not only establish a stable givernment, by at least reducing the threat of opposition to a level the Iraqi military can handle, but also moving to the next problem before it spreads back into Iraq. That means probably having to go to Syria, Iran, etc.

It was bery clear in the beginning that this would be a long process and as much as I hate the cliche', we need to stay the course in order to ensure that there is no future "9/11" attacks on the US.

I live near where this guy lived.  It's BIG on the local news and is being covered EXTENSIVELY!  It seems he was a pretty well rounded and upstanding guy.  Obviously, he was also a LITTLE naive.  BUT he was no cuckoo clock.  He made a really bad decision, that's all.

Yes. he made a very bad decision, called entering into a WAR ZONE.

That justifies what they did?????????????????

No, but makes a person wonder WTF he was doing there ?

Be real.................................. it is a war zone.
