Local news coverage after a police shooting caused several hours of unrest and the burning of a police car.  A similar confrontation of the next day seemed to be a "copycat"situation.  Anyone noticed similar happening?

I live on the better side of the bay ;) and have to say that Mobile PD needs to tighten that area up! I saw 2 bangers on the news referring to the Jaguar Patrol or the Rangers. They said, "We call dem da 'Jump out boys' cause when dey seezs us doin sumin wrong, dey always jumpin out on us!" YA THINK? THATS THE FREAKING IDEA! Those people do not want the police to infringe on their business of slinging rock. MPD needs to give them something to riot about, like putting the whole shitty area on lockdown. Makes me sick. They actually see a problem with a cop shooting someone who was shooting him... I guess if the officer just ignored the activity he was observing it would have never happened and apparently that's what they expect.

I do have to shake my head in sadness and amazement that the officer was vestless in that shithole... My trainees were not allowed in the unit without their freaking vest.

No--Officer Terrell was not wearing his vest.  He was hit in the lower left lung.  In the stomach, twice through the hip and through the leg.  But he returned..eh.. adequate fire. They have made photo t-shirts of the dead kid and he is a hero cause he got a bullet into a cop.  The Mayor comes out to "calm things down" (we have elections in August), he was supposed to have told the Lieutenant on the crime scene perimeter that the officers needed to put their shotguns up, cause they were intimidating everyone.
The shooting on the very next day was simply  mental patient "copy-cat".
