How hard is it to swap a 4 speed manual tranny for a 3 speed manual tranny (both floor shifts) in the '77 and older Broncos? Is it a simple unhook and swap or do the transfer case / drive shafts need swapping too? Speedo adjustments?

What is the name of the 4 speed and how much do they cost from a junk yard?

Thanks in advance.

Search around for an NP435 (I think you want the 2wd version...)

Thanks for the answer. I found this to go along with it in case anyone else is interested:

Wild Horses

They sell the adapter kits for the NP435 4 speed and NV 4500 5 speed. Talk about sweet!
