My son just bought the same machine minus Blu-Ray and 2G of ram for $429.
According to him, "It rocks!"

I guess it really depends on what your needs are for the machine.

8gb of RAM and that much storage for less than $600?

Do it

I ended up buying it. Lots of the woot.com board posters say the power supply is undersized, not a big deal - I've got a larger one sitting around here that I can swap in. Only major upgrade might end up being a better graphics card.

It's slow RAM and 1TB drives can be had for less than $60 now. Still a darn good deal though.

Bet it's faster than the 1GB of PC4200 I've got right now.
