I've always had a soft spot for the 1911, but my experience with them has left me feeling dissatisfied.  I've had three of them and they all had problems that led me to sell them within a few months.

Today I took the plunge again, this time on a Kimber Custom, their basic, no frills 1911 with a matte finish, rubber grips and plain sights.  I brought her home, cleaned her up, and took her to the range with 300 rds of JHP ammo to see what she's got.

This one won't be getting sold anytime soon. [beer]

My Kimber Pro Carry SLE is my favorite pistol. A damn fine gun.  I would like to get a full size Kimber next.

Of the all the firearms in my safe,  The Kimber is the last one I would consider letting go.  I love that gun.  And it loves me back. [:D]

Congrats on your 1911,  Personally, the 1911 points the most neutral of all the pistols that I own.  Now I have 2(Full size, combat commander) and working on a third(Officers size).

You'll cherish your Kimber for a long time.
