$100 bonus for the day.  I fortunately have it off.  Would have liked the bonus though.

The schedule for tonight has been changed at least three times in the past two days, currently I have no special assignment, but I'm probably going to be shift supervisor.
It's also going to be warm tonight, and I anticipate going to a lot of "naked person" calls. [:D}

Everyone on shift is going to meet underneath the Town Lake bridge at 10 minutes before midnight.  It's good to have overhead cover by that time.

Not really, LOTS of gunfire at midnight. Even  full auto on occasion. The fireworks will literally be raining out of the sky, and powder smoke will be thick enough to choke on.

Baghdad and East Austin have a lot of similarities.  [BD]

Well, here we go, I am off to look for the cartel, or maybe, just police the streets of the city, either way, someone is going to jail:)

Happy New Year!

Well, I made it through my shift.  Did anyone else have an unusually quiet evening?  Mine was!

One dead transient, (few days ripe,  probably dates from the cold front last week) found in the bushes on the hike and bike trail.

Last arrest of 2003, (PI) at 2302. First arrest of 2004, 0017. (PI)

Most entertaining call, drunk guy threatening to kill his neighbor with a shotgun over fireworks.

Oddest thing, (Aside from all the att Suicides). Three DWI collisions, all involving power poles, within minutes of each other, right at closing time. One knocked out power to an entire subdivision.

Lots of good looking wimmins in the entertainment district. [:D]

All in all, a fairly quiet night. I think the constant drizzle kept the mayhem down.

I thought this was going to be the first time in 5 years that I'd be off for New Years Eve...what was I thinking?

Well at least I'll be getting at least 12 hours of O/T.

12?  I ended up with 15+ hours.  Hour and a half nap, hot shower and I was in for a day tour on the first.

My first New Years Eve....2 foot chase within the first two hours.  At 3am we still had approx 20 disturbances pending and being worked and the damn people who call in complaints about fireworks....I sure wish they'd get a life.  After all it is New Years.  I worked from 7p to 7a and did it again on new years day.  luckly everyone was tired from the night before.
