I saw in Wal-Mart the other day that they have a new release of the original Star Wars trilogy.  How is this different from prior releases?  Are there any special features worth having?

I have the movies on VHS, but they are pretty hammered and I would kind of like to get it on DVD.

They're the 1997 "special editions".

It probably was for the DVD release.
SW fans have been asking for this for YEARS and they are just now getting released on DVD.
Supposedly, Lucas wanted to oversee the DVD tranfer himself to make sure it was "perfect"
That the reason that's given for the delay.

It's the DVD release and it also comes with a documentary on how the movies were made.  It's a 4 disc set.
