It wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Watched it for Gina.
Was bored out of my mind after 10 minutes.  Gina could have run around naked and I still would have switched channels.  Sorta like West Wing Chick Lite.
I recommend Earth Girls and Long Kiss Goodnight for a Gina fix.

Networks are interested in MONEY, not politics.  This show is intended to get some of the West Wing audience, particularly women, and hopes to catch a certain demographic so that they can sell lots of advertising revenue.

Of course it will fail, because it is obviously a West Wing knockoff that is shamelessly pandering to women.

President Gina's Chief of Staff excoriates Bush.  Is he gay?

XXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 02, 2005 21:04:37 ET XXXXX

'COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF' SUTHERLAND:  BUSH WILL DESTROY OUR LIVES

Choking back tears,  COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF star Donald Sutherland warned this week: President Bush "will destroy our lives!"

The star of the new ABC drama, which follows the first woman President of the United States,  lashed out at the real White House during a dramatic sit down interview with the BBC.

Sutherland ripped Bush and his administration for the war and Hurricane Katrina fallout.

"They were inept. The were inadequate to the task, and they lied," Sutherland charged.

"And they were insulting, and they were vindictive.  And they were heartless.  They did not care.  They do not care.  They do not care about Iraqi people.  They do not care about the families of dead soldiers.  They only care about profit."

At one point during the session, Sutherland started  crying:  "We stolen our children's future... We have children.  We have children.  How dare we take their legacy from them.  How dare we.  It's shameful.  What we are doing to our world."

Sutherland went on rip Karl Rove's "methods and means" against people like Cindy Sheehan.

"We're back to burning books in Germany," Sutherland said of NBC's editing out of Kanye West's comment on Bush during a hurricane relief telethon.

The creator/director/whatever of the show, Rod Lurie, is a hardcore leftie whose previous credits include the giant steaming turd of a movie "The Contender" in which a (Democrat) female VP candidate gets "unfairly" smeared because of alleged photos of her getting gang-banged by frat boys in college.  The point of that movie went something like this: "If I were man, this wouldn't be an issue, and Republicans are mean women-haters."  Thing is, I'm pretty sure if Dick Cheney had pictures of him circulating on the Internet with a cock in both ends of him he probably wouldn't have been a suitable VP candidate either.

Basically, it's a big honkin' pile of horseshit.  It was on at the bar I was at last night, and I also decided that the "first husband" or whatever he is (I dunno, sound was off) looks like a neutered little pussy.  It's a bull-dyke feminist's fantasy - also probably part of the reason that Geena Davis was cast in the role, as she is man enough to kick my ass and kick the asses of half of the men on this site.

Boy are you niave.  Its got to be both.

The only way to be sure is to follow the money trail.

By the way, it would not be the first time the networks catered to the voting populace.

Don't confuse the networks themselves with their news divisions.

Television networks are first and foremost concerned with selling advertising revenue.  If to do that, they'll tailor-make a show to give lefties and feminazis a collective hard-on, they'll do it.  Part of the primary reason that there's so much leftie political stuff on broadcast networks is that cable and other entertainment (videogames, Internet, etc) has destroyed their demographics with working-age people that have jobs and disposable income.  Go on and guess who is left that primarily watches broadcast networks....

This is why the terrorists would have done us a favor if they hit the building with everyone involved with this show.  Instead they hit the buildings where people actually work for a living.
