Consumer Reports ranks the new Impala as tops in its segment. How did this happen??? Discuss....

Couldn't have done it without the union.
I damn well know peoples heads were exploding and their fingers twitching uncontrollably as they started banging on the quote symbol. |
|
It's tier one fugly, that's for sure. My mom has had several Impala's, buys them new every few years. I'm always fixing shit on it. Always in for warranty work when covered.

Bullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllshit

I had one as a rental and the thing was a fucking joke. No acceleration, brakes are soft, interior looks like its from a mid-90's minivan. |
|
Drove a rental Malibu couple weeks ago for a few days & it was nice.

I had an 04 and never had a problem with it...............ran well and had great acceleration. Kinda wish I had it back

I will say, I'm not a fan a car manufactures using fake interior products (wood grain) to mimic higher end cars. |

Regardless of the CU's assessment, the car remains a GM product, therefore susceptible to the same issues that have plagued GM vehicles forever.
For the record, in my fifty years of driving, I've owned just about every marque of car including three Chevy's. They were all crap. |

The new Impala is good for people who want a spacious car that rides smooth and quiet. No one's going to mistake it for an M5. |

Now THAT is a feature I've wanted since I first saw it on a Saab back in 2000 or somewhere around there. Unfortunately, I've never found that feature in the car I want. The heated seats in my GTI are just SO USEFUL when I get in the car and it's 110deg inside, on a cloudy day, with tinted windows and a shade in the windshield. On the other hand, the heated seats CAN be entertaining with unsuspecting passengers. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

On the other hand, the heated seats CAN be entertaining with unsuspecting passengers. Yeah I had a MkIII GTI VR6 that had heated seats as did my MkIV R32.....10 years later some (mostly American) manufactures don't offer them. Same game now, whether it's my Benz or any number of other cars that now have heated and cooled seats it's a promise that the driver and passenger spend the bulk of the trip turning on each others heated seat when they're not looking. |

When I first read the title, the new rwd SS based on the Holden Commodore came to mind. I got excited.
Then I realized we were talking about a v6 fwd rental car. Maybe Chevrolet spent a lot of add money with consumer reports.. or maybe it really is the best beige appliance. I don't care to find out. |

Fear is one hell of a motivator. That and money, but I'm thinking it was more out of fear. |

Rebadged, ugly version of the g8 gt that came out years ago and no one wanted.

GM haters here are pathetic. If I took that car and put BMW or Toyota emblems on it, you all would be jerking off to the pics. Consumer Reports says a Toyota is good and they are correct. They say Impala is good and it is somehow "rigged." Jesus.

Mom got a 2010 Impala.
Talk about SOULLESS. It's... just... so... BLAH. I haven't driven it, but I am afraid it would put me to sleep. |

Chevy is the Detroit of automobiles, now.
I love America, but the cars... well... |

QUALITY EVERYWHERE. Teir 2 my ass. |

You do know that the Editor for CR was married to a VP for Panasonic - wonder why all that Panny stuff got great reviews over the years. Corrupt Long Island faux review mafia. If they reviewed Presidents, Carter, FDR & LBJ would get 4 stars, and the Kenyan would get 5. They can gargle dog poop. So there! |

Meh, I've seen some cheap ass Japanese car and truck interiors in my day. They started the tread of "mouse fur" carpet.[unfortunately, US car builders soon followed in their footsteps] The interior of my late 90s Buick is still in excellent shape, damn good materials that held up better then most any price comparable Japanese car of the same era. 15 years later, the seats still have not broke down and lost their firmness. FWIW, I owned Japanese cars and trucks before a significant portion of ARFcom was a gleam in their Daddies eye. |
