Dammit, I thought I had the only one! I don't know if this is an option for you but I soaked some primers in carb cleaner and put them in polished brass so I could have dummys. Likely overkill, but just food for thought.

Its a Dan Wesson 44. When they fall out for whatever reason they become "pencil holders". Everyone at DW has a small collection on their bench. I ran a 10 x 1.5 metric tap up in it. I wanted to use one of the 445 SuperMag cylinders for effect but it just didn't feel right for a shift knob.

If your shifter uses the common 10mm 1.5 thread pitch then there is just enough thread depth to make it all work. The other most common thread is 3/8" and the hole is too large to tap without some creativity. I will have to take a look but I may have a couple more 'pencil holders' in my tool box. Since my move to AZ all my stuff is in storage but I will check it out when I get a min. Taxman and Striker PM me but I will have to cut it off there because I know I don't have more than two if even that.
