Midway has 50 round 45acp drum magazines for a 1911. They are $60.

They are black ribbed polymer. Has anyone tried them? Are they any good?

I've owned 3 different pro-mag mags before, not one of them worked or even came close to working...

I thought "pro-mag" was a euphimism for " big steamy corn-filled pile of shit"

Looks cool, but if it's pro-mag I'll pass.

If though the quality might suck you have to love a manufacturer who produces a 50rd pistol magazine!  God bless the NRA for fighting to get rid of the AW ban.

If someone had some spare cash and was looking for a business opportunity buiding quality US made drum magazines for every firearm out there could bring you a boat load of money.

Dillon might even front you some seed money if you get a good design.

I would get more entertainment out of ripping up $60.  At least then I would save on the shipping.

Some people have had bad luck with ProMag.  I've had good luck so far.  Got a couple mags for a little cheap 380, and they worked fine.  I picked up a mag for my CZ75, but haven't gotten to the range with it yet.  It seats and ejects just fine... AND has the holes on the LEFT side of the body - easier to see the cartridges when you're right handed that way.  For $20, if it works, I'll pick up a couple more.

I've also read a couple people state they have 32rd Beretta 92 mags that work flawlessly in their CX4 carbines.  I'll be getting a couple of those to try out someday.

ive had a couple pro mags as well and thought they were crap...all 1911 mags...i heard somewhere that some of their mags are pretty good, for like the S&W autos and such....also knew a guy who I think said he had p7 mags from them that werent bad....but all the 1911 stuff I have ever had from them was crap...

Come on people..think....45 acp AR with 1911 magwell adapter.....

ETA the only promags i have ever used were the new poly 9mm AR mags. Had great success with them actually.
