Just fired up netflix after work, and it looks like they took away the rating system. Now it's all just based on movies/shows you've watched previously and "liked".

WTF are they thinking?

I knew her new special was getting tanked in the ratings, but I didn't think netflix would change their entire ratings system over something so minor. On a related note, I thought several publicized critics had said it was actually just a bad special; didn't have anything to do with her political leanings. I'm sure some of the poor ratings were about politics, but what if it just sucked?

I do know they've been wanting to make a change since at least last year (and I know they've tested stuff before Amy's new special). Personally, I think this latest debacle just gave them the impetus to finally throw the switch on it.

Yesterday the Amy Schumer special was listed at "1 star" on my lineup; that was the default rating, it wasn't my own. Today it's showing that it's a 95% match for me (probably due to liking some comedy specials). I don't understand how there's that big of a discrepancy.

I don't know about that. I would frequently get suggested movies which would have 2 star ratings, then half an hour into the flick, I'd click my way out because it really was a two star flick. The rating system was pretty spot on for the most part.

They paid for a shit ton of comedy specials, almost all of which have great reviews except for one - the one they advertised the most... more so than the return of Dave Chappele.
