OK, this is a weird one I know, but..........

An old buddy of mine (and I DO mean old, he's in his 70s) likes Caffeine-Free Diet Coke and Kentucky Tavern.  I tried one and it was the BEST whiskey based drink I've ever had.

Whiskey Sours are my fav. cocktail

Normally I'm a scotch kinda guy, and scotch is not to be mixed with anything but ice. Spring water be damned.

Moscow Mule

2 shots Vodka
1 shot Lime Juice,
1.5 shots Ginger Beer
Chipped Ice

Put it all in a martinin shaker, and mix until the sides are too cold to hold.
Open cap, and pour into glass.
Ginger beer is non-alcoholic and can be found in grocery stores.

One of my all time faves - tastes good, gets you fucked up real well.

Yes, Vodka goes good with the sports drinks.
A true Russian immigrant would share his imported vodka with me, and often mixed it into grape Gatorade.  It is the only way I will drink vodka.

Amaretto Stone Sour:

1 part amaretto almond liqueur
1 part sweet and sour mix
1 part orange juice

Shake and serve over ice in a tall glass.

Tex-Mex version:

2 oz sweet and sour mix
2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
2 oz tequila
1 splash orange juice

In a shaker tin with ice, add sour mix, tequila, and amaretto. Shake well. Strain into highball glass. Add a splash of orange juice. Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry, and serve.

Of course, Wyborowa and cranberry juice nailed me after a nice smoked fish and rice in Nuoc Mam one night... I suddenly understood why the Russians and the Vietnamese disliked each other.

The secret to sex on the beach IMHO is to add just a little grenadine and layer the colors to let the drinker stir it.

It was mentioned earlier, but the ingredients are

-grenadine
-vodka
-cranberry juice
-orange juice

you can also add peach schnapps to make it even tastier

Tequila Sunrise . . . . . . (mixed my way) !

in a Collins glass . . .

2 jiggers (tall double-shot glass) Cuervo Gold tequila;

add orange juice to about an inch below the rim, stir;

add about 3/4 jigger of grenadine.

I don't use ice, but I keep glasses and tequila in the freezer and O.J and grenadine in the fridge.
And I finish them well before they can warm up!

Enjoy.
