I am trying to do something different this year for Thanksgiving dinner and thinking about making a pot roast (or something pretty close to it, I hope).

Anyone willing to share a good recipe?

Thanks in advance.

Do you deer hunt? Do you know how to make demi-glaze? Do you have a larding pen?

I am thinking beef.  I do have a pan and can do most things if given good directions.

Thanks.

Take a long thin bladed knife and poke a bunch of holes in that roast. In a bowl mix a coulpe of packs of dried onion soup mix; black pepper, garlic powder and a little salt. Stuff this dried mixture into the holes. In a black iron skillet add about 3 tables spoons of Crisco and a cup of sugar. Heat this up and stir till the sugar is melted. Put the roast into the skillet and glaze and sear it. Remove it from the skillet and wrap it in aluminum foil. Bake in the oven @350 till done. You will throw rocks at any other roast!
