I've got a friend who was given a S&W Model 539 semi auto that's chambered for 9mm.  She has not magazines for that pistol.  I've been trying to locate some sources for magazines for that pistol without luck so far.  Does anyone know about this pistol.  Has it been around for a while?  Are magazines hard to find for it?  Any info on this pistol is appreciated.

Just as an "oh by the way" comment, the S&W single stack mags for the Model 39 series, are exact duplicates of German P38 mags. The only difference is that the S&W mags have the slot cut in the side for the magazine release.  So if you ever get stuck for S&W single stack mags get a needle file to cut the release slot and use P38ers. Obviously you can use the S&W mags is issued in a P38.  [:D]
