I'm having a hard time trying to stop myself from obsessing on finding this song again, and need the hive mind's help. I heard it on I think KROQ while in San Francisco for work in 2005. It was an alt rock-folky female singer, vocal driven, acoustic I think, and had a retro feel about it, maybe even mentioning earlier music styles and times. It was catchy, and I could never find it once I got home back in the south. Maybe something about revolution or change in the air.

Man I need help, this is driving me nuts.

ETA Not KT Tunstall, but similar. Off now to Pandora.

So it is! KFOG maybe?

Part of the song was "blah blah was in the air". blah blah might have been change, or revolution.

It seemed to be in heavy rotation, but when I got back to Florida I never heard it again on our crap corporate stations. Soon after I bought an XM receiver and haven't listened to terrestrial music radio since.

It had a lot of play time in the UK...as flavour of the month(s), but not that many would be able to recall it straight away now. Jut the type who like that kind of indie pop/rock as a rule anyway.

Half a lyric of a song from 5 years ago and found it on the first try.  Damn.  If I'm ever in the cash cab, I'm phoning ARFCOM.

KFOG is the San Fransisco station that would have played that song, but I had never heard of it before.
