My GFs 2004 Ford Explorer has started making a noise, it's coming from the area of the rear drivers side wheel well on the inside of the vehicle. It sounds like an electrical motor or pump cycling every few seconds.

Is it the washer fluid pump?  Maybe the switch is stuck?  Does she have rear a/c?  Cant really think of much else that would be back there.
