Every friggin picture I try to upload to my avatar is too big.

119k is the smallest jpg I could manage to find...

It tells me no bigger than 12k ???

WTF???

I see bouncin boobs and pictures of cars in other avatars, why can't I get a friggin bumpersticker picture to fit ???
No, I don't have a clue what I'm doing.

Look for .gif instead of .jpg or convert a .jpg to .gif using something like photoshop or fireworks.

Adobe photoshop works even for a dork like me.  Download the free "lite" version if you have to.  There is a tool in one of the drop down tab menu's "resize".  You can adjust it to whatever res you need and it will tell you how large the file is.  Just convert to .gif and resize it to the proper file size.
