I need to get my son a birthday present this week, he is flying home from ND where he has been working on the oil wells, he has 2 AR's , 7 Henry,s and a couple 10/22's. Like to keep it around $1000. Kinda thinking about a Beneli Super Black Eagle but over my budget a little. Any ideas?

I dont want to get him another handgun at this point, let him get his CC permit and get handguns in his own name.

20 years old?

check his Amazon wish list.

Go to Amazon... go to wishlists... try his name or email in the search for wish lists dialog box that's there.

Are his AR's set up the way he wants them ?

If not, do you know what he wants / needs ?

He loaded his own rounds and shot his first bear when he was 10, I have all we need to reload anything we want including a Dillon 1050. Good thought though.

 Reloading.  Excellent idea.

ETA:  Read a bit farther.  Maybe a pheasant trip to SD.

ETA: Oh wait, he already spends his time in ND

Does it have to be a gun/gun related? Is he into cars? Might be cool to get a project vehicle to work on.

Bit more than you might want to spend but I like mine...........shop around, I'm sure you can get one for much less.

Father/son tactical class would be a great idea.  Pistol or carbine 1 from a decent outfit.  I learned to hunt from my dad but have struggled to get his mind around tactical training (I'm 40 he's 70).

Sounds like a good hard working son. If he was mine, a Sig P226 in 9mm or if he likes 45 ACP, a Sig P227

Good idea , love the sigs but as stated above I am not going to give him another handgun until he gets his CC permit and can have them in his name. He loves my Wilson and Les bears though.

Great idea but he has a AR drone he has not flown in a year, plus it always windy as hell in ND where he is living for now.

Something you do with him will last longer than anything you give him. A day with a fishing guide? A hog hunt overnight? Shooting course? Road trip?

Does he have a nice CCW gun yet?

When my son was about that age I gave him enough for a down payment on a house. Now three years later said house is worth 30K more.

ETA just checked zillow, more like 40K

Dillon 650XL and a gift certificate for the rest of the $1000, so he can buy some accessories.
