Well, dicks was having that sale on Remington UMC, 89.60 for a case of .223. But it seems it was a misprint because it says boxes of 50 and people are saying its only boxes of 20. So now what am I to do?
I really want, no I really need a few cases of ammo for $89.60 So how am I supposed to talk them into giving me a few cases for $89.60 each? Nowhere in the Paper did it say "Dicks is not held accountable for misprints." Can someone give some points, tips, advice on getting a case for $89.60???? |
You cant buy what they dont have. Most of the more common rifle ammo seems to come in 20s. Blackhills and some of the others are exceptions. |
Yes, they do not have 50rnd boxes but they can get 1000rnds of ammo and I can pay $89.60 for that. |
But the customer comes first, so shouldnt the pay out? Edited because I didnt think. Their case is 10 boxes, my case is 1000 Rnds |
Ummm, no............ |
better for ya |
I mean shouldnt the customer come first, if they had a misprint and no disclaimer to cover their ass with, i know they dont have to, but shouldnt they pay out for it? |

There is a 50rd Winchester box, comes in FMJ and softpoint. Gander Mnt carries it.
You just keep on telling yourself that, I'll bet life will be very disappointing as a consumer for you. |
You may still get a case for that much, but to them as a company a "case" could be 10 * 20rnd boxes....Its a case...... |
Well this is an advice thread, and i need some help with what i should say. Can i get some ideas beside "I want this for this", which I will say if it gets bad, or at the start of the convo.
Yell and scream like a little girl running around waving you're arms , that might work |
If you have an ad that says a case for that much, take it with you. Best thing you can do
Best thing you could do is take the ad with you and speak with a manager. The regular employees will not be able to help you. Generally when it has anything to do with price adjustments a manager is needed because the employee has no power to change the prices.
Might have to try that...... If you have an ad that says a case for that much, take it with you. Best thing you can do Have the ad sitting on my computer desk, ready to go. |
All you need... and as was said above, if it doesnt work right, ask for a manager. Either you will get it or you wont. No garuntee.
Wait, before I go in to see a manager, we are sure there are no 50 round boxes just 20, and were sure it was a misprint?
Hows about ya call them? Or if closed call before you leave....
Arround here, when there is a misprint, they put a sign at the front of the store stating it was a misprint. And I assure you, the customer is not always right. |
I called the other day, but the Gun clerk said they "had" 50 round boxes, but they were out and that I could rain check as much 223 ammo as I wanted. But everone on here says that they dont make 50 round boxes, So I am deff. gonna call before i leave.. |
Well, I would go by the employee as ive never been there...Call before you leave,. |
Well I just did the math, If its in 50rnd boxes, it will be $89.60 for 1000rnds. But if its only 20rnd packs, gotta buy 50 boxes to get 1000rnds, then the cost is going to be $244 by my math, granted im tired as all hell and can barely think.
If its gonna cost $224 to get a case, I will be forced to continue buying SS109 in 720rnd packs for $169 or switch to Wolf |
Wolf shoots just fine |
You know if you did further math you'd discover it would still be cheaper at 244$ per case over the SS109 224/1000= 22.4 CPR 169/720= 23.4 CPR |
If i get wolf, it'll be from cabelas, $129 plus shipping YEa but what am i supposed to say to the local pd when i go shooting with them in a few weeks when i pull out wolf? j/k |
"I got mine cheaper" |
Guys, Best Buy wouldn't give me a $1999.00 item for $19.99, even though that's what it said in their flyer. How do you think I should get them to honor their flyer? Would it help if I was
Guys? Guys? Please make me feel better about this...please? |
Just go, try it, and post the results of your mission already. |
kinda have to wait til 9am when the store opens to do that..... |
By then you'll have posted in this thread 45 more times. |
except for this post, it should be the last post i make till about 1:30pm tomorrow
What Dicks are you going to? |
Quoted:
Nowhere in the Paper did it say "Dicks is not held accountable for misprints." quote] one of the last pages in small print, on thebottom right, it say something to the effect of limiting amounts and someother legal stuff i tried to get it at that price and they said no, and i was to sleepy to argue with them. |
best advise i can give you is don't shop at DICK's.
they RUINED the Galyans we had. it was in business about 4-5 months then dicks took over. It's a damn shame what those assholes did to that chain. |
Same deal for me. I ended up getting a rain check for 60 boxes of "Rem UMC 50 pack box". My story is posted in the NY Section of the hometown thread. Basically there was a spot on the shelf where the REM UMC 50 round value packs were with the exact info listed and the price $4.48 per 50 round value pack. No sign indicating that the ad was incorrect as printed. I was even told that they had a specific amount (9 boxes) when the ad came out but it was gone by 9:00am on sunday. Im not holding my breath, but well see what happens
