I have a female friend that wants to buy the business where she works.  Without going into alot of details, she is emotional about this and needs somebody to negotiate with the current owner.  What type Atty would be best suited for this kind of thing.  This is a 7 figure deal and she has a difficult time communicating with the owner.  Any help would be appreciated.

You want a business lawyer.  Somebody who specializes or is at least knowledgable about the sale of business entities.  Based on the size of the transaction it is likely a closely held corp., an LLC, or the like.  Seven figures is a pretty small transaction as these things go, so you likely want a general business lawyer.  What state is she in?  I would call the state bar, as they likely have a referral service.

Seeking professional counsel is wise.  There can be serious tax consequences if the transaction is not properly structured.

I would go with a larger firm instead of a solo practitioner in that case.
