I'm looking for a good web site that has DVD reviews.  I am getting a DVD player for Christmas and  want to ensure that any DVDs I buy are not simply copies of the video version.

I believe that they are called "enhanced" versions.  Any suggestions?

Great site hosted by a AR15.com member.

Has detailed information about whatever version of a movie you're buying.

Those are my two favorite sites for reviews.

I use DVDtracker to keep track of my dvds.

You don't need "enhanced for 16:9" or anamorphic dvds unless you have a 16:9 set. But if you do it makes a huge difference.  Most current DVDs are anamorphic anyhow.

As for buying dvds, I bought my dvd player last year and everyone told me I would be buying a bunch of movies.  I said that was a load of crap as I bought about 1 VHS movie a year if that.  Well, I already have 80 some odd movies, damn you guys. [;)]

After I bought the dvd player I realized that my old stereo didn't have enough inputs, so I bought a new receiver, which necessitated new speakers, then with awesome sound I "needed" a new tv so I got an HDTV widescreen.  Now movies look and sound awesome so I end up buying a bunch.  Can be somewhat of an addictive habit as well.

IMDb also has a link for DVD features, on movies that have extras on the DVD.....
