Yes. It's National Watch a Squirrel Day today.
Nooooooooooooooooo. Don't shoot. Yes. Kerry does count. +1 for you. See how easy it is. Colt_SBR |

Does it count if you are watching the Squirrel through a glass lid of a crock pot?

That's what I'm talking about. I never had a 2 page post before.
Keep em coming. Colt_SBR |

My dog lives every day as if it were national watch a squirrel day!
It's her favorite activity in the world, next to bark at the kitties! |
|
I've been looking out in my back yard, but so far I've seen about 3 chipmunks and a bunch of birds -- so far, this National Watch a Squirrel Day is a bust for me
I was going to get a lot of work done today, but now I have to watch for the damn squirrels! |
|

I watched a squirrel get eaten by a couple turkey-headed vultures on Saturday. Does that count?
Kirk *Squirrels are appaently filled with lots of stringy red things. The vultures seemed to really like them. Ugly freakin' birds. |

You guys are drifting from the plan.
Squirrel Day doesn't mean, big black crow, 3 chipmunks and a bunch of birds, or Jack Crevales hit a bunch of minnows in the canal. Stay focused. Kerry does count. Squirrel Day Colt_SBR |

I saw a squirrel on Saturday, can I get half a point for that? It's raining today so no squirrels.

In a spirit of cooroporation to get you that second page.
A Squirrel poem Did you see the squirrel, racing to the tree? Must have found a walnut which had escaped from me. I saw the green leaves flutter, The woody branches quake. Knew he found some treasure, I'd missed through some mistake. Yet, I'm glad 'twas he who found it, Better he than I, For I would probably eat it, never asking why. Just some thoughtless action, when my mind was buried in, some fantasies, realities, some feelings there within. And then you see, unknowingly, unwittingly, I would, Hurt this fellow part of life, by stealing from his rude. And taking from his meager means, I'd cause him seek for more, I'd trouble him so needlessly, as I have done before. But, today I noticed him, his scramble for his meat, And feeling somewhat wiser now, I applaud his furry feet. I'll trouble him no, further, Not from this moment on. But, how often in the past, Have I done this kind of harm? May 22, 1970 Linda A. Copp© <---------ETA probably a hippy GM |

Hmmm. Well since it's national watch a tree rat day, I'll try and make it out to watch one
Through the scope on my10/22 right before I put a round through it's head |

Top this: true story-last night we had a bad rain storm which knocked over my garbage cans over. When I was home for a minute this morning I was straightening them up and a black squirrel (who I hate) picked up a stryrofoam coffee cup in his mouth, scurried up a tree, across the neighbor's 12 foot tall fence and down inside his back yard with it. I assume he'll be calling the police telling them I'm throwing trash in his yard or something.

Damnit, another holiday I have to work on. I'll go out at luinch and try to run a few over, the pesky rodents.

While I'm not an official judge, I'd have to say that watching through a scope would count. Have to wait for the official ruling, however.

What, are we supposed to take your word on it? I remember last years National Watch a Squirrel Day everybody and their brother was claiming they "saw" one. Considering the rarity of actually seeing a squirrel in the wild I'll need proof. GM |

Last year I made such a claim, but I'm a lying SOS |

Better hurry. Sun is going down. The National Watch a Squirrel Day will be over for another year.

Not bad for 2 hours of blasting........ Dad and I had a nice morning taking 329 squirrels in 2 hours using our .17 HMR rifles. Dad used his CZ and I used my Marlin and also used a TC with a 10" .22 LR barrel. Shooting was done at the edge of silage feed piles from 50 yards away without ever moving the truck. There are at least 300 California ground squirrels in this pile as we saw very few drag off during the shoot. We use a mechanical counter that is hung from the rearview mirror to keep up with the numbers. photos.imageevent.com/billd/california04/websize/sq-dadbillbig2.jpg |

That's a big pile o' dead squirrels!! So are those squirrels vermin out there? Or do these guys eat them? Or do they just like to kill things for fun? Shooting squirrels (or groundsquirrels) like that seems to be little different than videogames |
|
|
With that many you could tan the hides & have a nice squirrel coat or two . After a while I think it would cease to be fun & would become work. I guess some folks really have it in for varmint-cong. |

I was watching a squirrel earlier and i had no idea there was such a thing as watch a squirrel day.
I was thinking about my Grandfather and how proud he was of me when i finally killed one with my BB gun. |
|
I used to think squirrels were really cute and hated killing them with the car. But upon closer inspection, they look like a rat with a furry tail. I did see a couple of squirrels today but didn't have time to watch them
|
|
There's a reason they're called "tree-rats". They are cute & all when they're scampering about the woods or park but wait until you get one of the little bastiches in the attic or chimney of your house. |
