"I got my daughter in the clinic, gettin' her cured off the Wild Turkey.  And my son is working on his career."

"College?"

"Nope, carnival.  Yeah, last year he was pixie dust spreader on the tilt-a-whirl, and we figure next year he'll either be guessin' peoples' weight or barkin' for the yak woman..."

A few years back my dad actually dressed up as Eddie when he was emptying his RV.  We drove down to see some relatives (who also love the movie) and when they opened the front door, there my dad was in a white bathrobe and bomber hat, holding a cigar and a beer, and holding a shop vac hose coming off the tailpipe of our blazer!  "Merry Christmas!  Shitter was full!"

I thought they were all going to fall off the porch laughing!

Surprised Clark?

Eddie.  I wouldn't be more surprised if I woke up tomorrow morning with my face stapled to the carpet.

"Where do you think you're going? Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We're all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse. "

or

"Hey. If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is. Hallelujah. Holy shit. Where's the Tylenol?"

Eddie could easily be my younger brother, right down to his pride and joy--Snot.

"You remember that metal plate in my head?  Well, I had to have it removed.  Yep, every time Catherine would fire up the microwave I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for a half hour or so."

I also watch Die Hard 1 and 2.  A friend of mine was a set dresser on this movie.

Sounds like something I'd do visiting friends.

I don't think there is a part of that movie I don't like.  Going to get the tree.  The squirrel.  The cat and the cord.  The lights.
