Supposedly an 18 year old construction worker was hired on a remodeling project.  In a closet, he found a box of fireworks, one with the name of "Voodoo Doll", a rather large, probably illegal salute (big firecracker).

He takes two, finds a pipe and proceeds to hold said pipe with the salute in the other end.

The worker lost most of his hand and his left eye from the shrapnel.

Its gets better.  At the hospital where he was flown via helicopter, they find the other salute.  Yes, the staff calls the bomb squad.

Saw this on the news tonight and while they didn't show the injuries (damn), they showed the box of fireworks, complete with the explosive placard.
