I simply believe that Social Security should be completely up to an individual American to participate in. I don't know if I'd go so far as phasing it out...

Since my Air Force retirement is not subject to SS payments and my other income is miniscule by comparison it's a moot issue for me at the moment. But yes, it would be great to get rid of that POS program.

There is nothing good about SS. Offer people X years and younger a buyout, "1k and we don't owe you a dime for SS, and you stop paying your 6%, and in X years we'll stop charging your employer their 6%."

Before the 2000 election, someone told me that Bush was going to destroy the Unions and they had a public document to prove it. I asked to see the document, and he said that it was only available in the Union hall so that no one could see it.
