Saskatchewan Red Bud. Very rare, very potent. Pepper your angus.

Mowing is faster than plucking.

Wish I could get it to grow in my yard. Bahia is the only thing that works.

ETA: name the weed Larry.

Centipede grass is actually really awesome, at least where I live. Even if I let it go unmowed for a month, it never gets over 8 inches tall and doesn't really look unkempt.

Kill the occasional Dallis grass or dandelion clump, and let it fill in the hole.

Far less of a PITA than any fescue I ever dealt with.

Much more drought tolerant also.

It is an invasive, though since it came from China (what I've read). It does do an excellent job of covering the dirt with green stuff without needing any special care once established.

I think OP just has a seed head on his sod. Hmm, that sounds dirty.

Yup. Mowing it won't help, annual bluegrass can sustain very low mowing heights. It is also very persistant and will go to seed at the low mowing heights. Remove it now, or face a lawn with many lighter colored patches.

Much of the cool season lawngrass seed is grown in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, and this is a nasty weed there and hard to get rid of. So, it winds up in the seed sold to consumers and in sod grown on sod farms.

Like the poster above said nuke it now.

Should have read the sod company's website my builder used for sod installation. They use a Kentucky Bluegrass blend. Still haven't decided on a name. My last lawn had more blades of grass than this mix of blades and what I pictured above.
