I'm going to go out with my g/f and her friends to a bar on Saturday night (we went last Saturday, I had 2 sam adams) What's a good beer for me to get this time ? ETA: PIE is not a type of beer

ETA: this is just a small karaoke bar, I don't know what their selection is but probably not much. I know I had Sam Adams last weekend and it was really good. any ideas ?

Terminator Stout is probably the best beer money can buy. Unfortunately I think it can only be bought in Oregon.

Ever had Smithwicks Irish Ale (pronounced smidicks) ??

Kinda tastes alot like Guiness, but no where near as heavy.

Great Lakes Brewing Company's Edmund Fitzgerald Porter.

Since you're in MD, Clipper City, Wild Goose, Blue Ridge and DeGroen's are all pretty good breweries from within the state. Clipper City Pale Ale, Wild Goose IPA, Degroen's Marzen and Blue Ridge ESB are good beers from those breweries.

Wherabouts in MD are ya, Bob1984?

If you enjoyed Sam Adams, then try Harpoon IPA.

If you enjoy Harpoon IPA then try Flying Dog's Snake Dog IPA.

Then stop. DEMAND GENUINE PIE, ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES.

Anything by:
Stone Brewing Co.
Dog Fish Head Brewing Co.
Weyerbacher Brewing Co.
Stoudts Brewing Co.
Southern Tier Brewing Co.

Can you tell I like micro-brews?

Sam Adams also makes a fine Octoberfest which is in the bars now. Harp, Bass, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale are good also.

The only problem is, most bars that feature karaoke will have Coors Light, Bud, Miller Light and other mass produced yellow fizzy beer without flavor.

After dinner tonite I'll be having a "Wailing Wench India Pale Ale" and a "Ruination Pale Ale" and try to decide which one I like better.

Sam's a great beer, so is McKewen's if you've got it up there, and we drink Bud Select if we want to hang for quite awhile.

Shiner Bock is a really great beer, too, but doesn't seem to get outside of Texas much.
