Forget that, why is it pink ?

Man! That's worse than the Pearl video! I'm sorry I looked at it, and will now probably have nightmares. All though, a chicken sandwich sounds pretty good right now!

Thought this was gonna be a post about the Hooters "naked" hot wings...

Well after some deep frying and seasoning, that chicken can be a Hooters naked hot wings.

I still wonder what a "boneless / skinless" chicken looks like??? Anyone got pics??? [:D]

Forget the naked chicken, I'm more interested in the clothed chick. [moon]

The accompanying article actually pointed out some good reasons for using this sort of chicken instead of normal ones. The feathers create a lot of waste product that pollutes -- Tyson Chicken paid a lot of bribes to Clinton to "look the other way" as they dumped waste into Arkansas streams. Also, creating feathers uses up a lot of energy which could be used to build up meat instead, thereby lowering feed usage per pound of meat. The pink color is there for the same reason that humans (underneath any other pigmentation) are pink -- hemoglobin. I still think it's gross. But I'll reserve judgement until I've tasted a seasoned and broiled one from CostCo's rotisserie.

Dang! So all my stock in motorized plucking machine manufacturers is worthless now?

I guess some farmboys don't like getting telltale feathers all over themselves. "Kinky is when you use a feather. Perverted is when you use the whole chicken."

The chicken is NOT genetically altered.. It was bread from a NATURALLY occuring freak hatched some 30 years ago and selectively bred. The reason for the lack of feathers is three fold. The obvious one is you do not need to pluck it. Second...It has less fat due to the lack of feathers. Third....It can be kept in barn with no cooling systems. This is good for third world areas with less power to cool massive chicken coops.. Oh it still is one Mother Ugly Bird!!

What did they bread it with?? I'm partial to cornmeal, myself. So far, I've seen conflicting news reports on whether it was "genetically modified" or selectively bred. It will be interesting to see how it goes, either way. And no matter what, I'd hate to meet up with that thing in a dark alley while drunk.

I see. So instead of being altered by Man, it was altered by Nature. Basically it's a mutant. Subsequent chickens of this nature would be the result of a process of inbreeding whereby all sorts of recessive traits and defects can be concentrated with each successive generation. Oddly enough that doesn't sound appealing.

I thought about running a thread similar to this, but didn't know how to keep it clean enough for young eyes. fullclip
