They call it the Donut Special.....lets the Patrol Officer finish his Donut AND Coffee after clocking someone on radar--he'll still catch them in under 5 miles..

Regular patrol officers just carry a Service 9mm handgun with the option of a carrying a 9mm backup semi-auto. Older cops can carry 38spl. revolver off duty/backup weapon but the 38spl. is no longer offered for new police recruits. There are Colt M4's, H&KMP5's, etc. in the inventory but thats strictly for special units. |

Yeah right, that thing wouldn't make one trip down the FDR without loosing a wheel. ( unless theyve done alot of work since the 5 years ago I was there.)

Had a NYPD Charger surprise me the other morning on the LIE ( 69st > Qns Blvd.) cause I wasn't paying attention to the mirrors as I and everyone else was "only" doing sixty. He was weaving through traffic at about seventy and popped up on my right before I ever saw him and kept on going, like a shark. In a slight hurry to get somewhere at 05:20. ( Insert mandatory Dunkin' joke here). Note to self, must now memorize Dodge Charger headlights to go along with Crown Vic, and Chevy Impala old and new. |
