I am looking for information about the Ridgewood, NY area. What is this area like demographically and what are the crime statistics? Information about  the frequency of crimes in this area and what  the most typical crimes for this area?

I have been informed that the Ridgewood area itself is OK, basically working class and generally law abiding population. However, I was also informed that the area borders some rough areas and crime spills over into Ridgewood as a result. I was also advise that night time there is definite time for due caution.

Any thoughts from an LEO perspective would be greatly appreciated. Would you choose to live there?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I used to live off Seneca Ave on Bleecker Street. Wyckoff Ave is the border for bushwick. Mrs. El was mugged right in front of the brownstone and lost two teeth. Mybe closer to Fresh Pond Road where the old blood italians live but down by the Newyoricans and Mex? Asking for trouble. My opinion? Wait till after Al Quaeda sets off a clean nuke on Knickerbocker Ave that only kills off males, and all problems would be solved.
