He was secretly arrested for having stolen codes developed to hack into the networks of foreign governments...

Kinda like Russia hacking into the DNC? I'm predicting silence from the Clinton camp...

I enjoyed my time there. But I wasn't doing IC work. It was pretty technically heavy aerospace design and systems engineering stuff.

He should just explain that he wasn't sophisticated enough to understand the markings despite being required to take regular training on what the markings mean.

That would qualify him to run for president!

He was charged with theft of government property, and unauthorized removal or retention of classified documents.

Some people (John Schindler) thought that Snowden was a cover operation for another mole operating in the NSA.

http://observer.com/2016/08/the-real-russian-mole-inside-nsa/

The most recent case seems related to the leak of hacking tools a few weeks ago, so it wouldn't surprise me
if the "Snowden cover mole" is still operating.

Most of what Delisle gave Moscow wasn’t Canadian information but belonged to Five Eyes, much of which came from NSA. Yet the most interesting part of the Delisle case is what GRU did not want from him. As one intelligence scholar noted:

Incredibly, GRU was uninterested in some of the best stuff Delisle could have provided, particularly in the technical and scientific fields, including information on how Canada and its allies protect coded communications. This puzzled Delisle, as well it might.

Spitballing as I don't know how things are compartmentalized, but maybe related to some of the Equation Group's work getting into the wild.

If we want to ratchet up the tinfoil, maybe he's a sacrificial lamb or just careless, but tied to Clinton's CTR group. One of the recent leaked revelations made reference to use of an NSA tool in tracking down opposition.

As long as he sticks with the story he didn't INTEND to steal secrets...he should be A-OK.
Link Posted: 10/14/2016 9:57:47 AM EDT

Eh, how could anyone be expected to know if it was classified or not.
Not guilty

I don't get this

he contractor was identified as Harold T. Martin III, 51, of Glen Burnie, Md., according to a criminal complaint filed in late August. He was charged with theft of government property, and unauthorized removal or retention of classified documents. During an F.B.I. raid of his house, agents seized documents and digital information stored on electronic devices. A large percentage of the materials found in his house and car contained highly classified information.

You work for the NSA you should be pretty good at hiding your shit especially, when you know you are ripping them off. Something fishy here.

Now they're going to charge him with espionage. He was probably selling the stuff to China.

He probably didn't know what the "C" stood for on the documents.
Maybe he thought it meant "cookies" or something.. everyone loves cookies... therefore he shouldn't be charged. He's thinking of running for potus in 2020.
