Right now the NRA is offering "upgrades" of Life membership to Endowment memberships for $175!!!!   Call 1-877-672-2000 and say 'I got a notice that I could upgrade my Life Membership to Endowment for $175. I would like to do that now.'

Normally its $1500 for Endowment.

Hard deal to beat.

From the NRA site:

Contributory Life Memberships
(Offered to Fully Paid Life Members)

Endowment Member $1,500
Patron Member $2,500
Benefactor Member $4,000

Endowment, Patron and Benefactor members are eligible to vote in NRA elections, receive special recognition at NRA events, and are sent credentials including a certificate suitable for framing, a lapel pin, a decal, and a new membership card so you can proudly display your membership status. Sign up for a Life membership today using this form.

Members are entitled to a credit based on the current value of whatever level of life membership they now hold. [For example: If you are a already an Endowment member (currently valued at $1,500) you need only pay the additional $1,000 to reach $2,500 and the Patron level]

Please contact Membership Division at 1-877-672-2000 (option # 3) between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday to ensure that proper credit is given.

Outside of those business hours, please leave a message and a Life Specialist will return your call the following business day.

Hey Cyclic, how did you get the word on this?  I don't see anything after a quick glance at the NRA site.  Letter, email?

Since I just signed up for a Life Membership for $500 I'd REALLY be interested in doing this.

Ok guys, here is the low down....

After you obtain your "Life" membership you have the option to uprade it 3 times.  Endowment, Patron, and Benefactor.   What happens is this.....  When you up grade the NRA takes that money (weither it is $175 or $1500) and puts it in a special acount.    This Acount is to ensure the future of the NRA and the 2nd ammendment!    This money is NEVER used.....  it is invested and only parts of the intrest are used when needed.    Think of it as an IRA for the NRA!   This is a very good safe guard for our future, and ensures that the NRA will always have plenty of Money even if they start losing members.

Hope this helps.

I'm just endowment level, but I plan to keep giving every year.

The NRA vocally advocates for my gun rights in Washington. I support them.

I wish they could devote some energy to the state level bans, but assuming they can work to keep any more from getting passed (ie work now to stop Michigan's proposal, work to keep NJ from doing any new craziness), I'd rather next focus be on nationwide CCW, followed by eliminating the various state AWB.

Easier to pass new laws than remove old ones. Passing new CCW easier than eliminating existing AWB. However, once nationwide CCW exists and "the people" see that their quality of life improves since criminals must consider all victms to potentially be armed for defense, "the people" will hopefully be more reasonable about geting rid of the various state level AWB.

Just my opinion, but I'm sticking to it.

I just took advantage of this great deal.  I was an Endowment Life member, I just upgraded to Benefactor for $500.  To go from Endowment to Patron would have been $250.

Thanks GC! I always wondered what the jump in levels did. I upgraded to Endowment a few years ago and wondered "what I bought." Now I know.

Have to upgrade again in a couple of years.

I picked up the info on "subguns.com" and was upgraded within 20 minutes, even calling from here ( Saudi Arabia).  The guy got it in his mail and then posted, since I won't be getting my mail in a timely manner I used his post for the contact info and called the NRA.

I get most US info from here and subguns. I've even been able to do security updates faster from AR15.com than any other source. Normally on good intel you guys beat the news and my other sources by about 30 minutes to several hours. <- sad huh?

I called them up to see about getting my wife's membership upgraded, this is what they told me:

To go from Life to
Endowment Member $175
To go from Endowment to
Patron Member $250
To go from Patron to
Benefactor Member $250

You have to go, or at least pay for each level. In other words, if you are a Life member wanting to go to Benefactor Member, it is going to cost you $675

And that really is not a bad deal, I paid more than that for my Benefactor pin...

Think of it as an investment in your firearms.

Good deal.  I upgraded to Endowment. I may run for the NRA Board of Directors when the kids are out of the house and I have some free time.  I have been a Board member of my state association for the past 10 years.
