It seems to me to be a good idea to take some of these links we've posted here on the Forum and give them to the ANTI-GUN folks who will be staging a protest at the show in Puyallup,WA this coming weekend.

List a few sites/url's to offer them stating our side...

I intend to utilize this opportunity to inform them with facts and logic.
Whether they like it or not.
Politely, of course.

I am bringing my 2 year old little boy to the show. I am bringing him so he can see from a young age that guns don't kill people. The only things that do are us. If he can  start understand that when he is young, he will respect the power of a firearm and the fraility of life, and  I won't have to worry about him be a unsafe gun owner in the future.

You mean to tell me that there are a lot of short haired white guys at gunshows ? I'll have to look into that. [;D]

Next, you'll be telling me that most are overweight, heterosexual, veterans, or veteran heterosexuals. [sex]

Usually in the main hall, look for the ValArms banner, it'll be flying.

You gonna make the Puy CavVet? M will be there too.

Neat, a gathering!  Drop by the Libertarian Party booth on Saturday afternoon -- I'll be there from noon 'til closing (excepting bathroom breaks). [flag]

(Or, really, drop by any time!  I won't necessarily be there, but you can still pick up some great literature. [:D])

Hey? Why aren't all you Washingstonians on the

Last chance to put this up to the top for getting noticed!!!
Seeya in Traffic.

By the way, I'll wear the AR15.com T-Shirt.
The TOWER OF POWER ones are, ah, kinda small now.
"I still be a RedHeadedFunkyWhiteBoy..."  say that 5 times, REAL FAST!!!

Hey! Maybe I'll see you all there.  I'll be there with at least two others.

Me: 6', short, light-brown balding hair, jeans and a Hawaiian-print shirt (beige, black and white patterned).  The two guys I'll be with will be a 5'8'' slender red-head kid (bother) and a buddy about 6'3", slender and glasses.

As for the anti's...frankly, I'm probably gonna walk right past 'em as they will be too far gone to even try talking sense to.[heavy]

Do NRA members get in for free or do we still have to pay the WAC cover charge?

Looks like I'm gonna miss that one.  I'm gonna go see the one in Tacoma on July 14-15 at some Mall.....

Tweak is back! Thank you GoatBoy.

I dunno if WAC lets NRA members in for free, I haven't heard that they did but I don't listen to a lot of the admin stuff anyway.

You're not that short Stokes. [:P]

Kaliburz,

There is a mailing list at

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wa-shooters

that sends out reminders for the local gun shows.

The one in Lakewood is the Pacific Arms Society which was formed by a radical splinter group of WAC and has the old WAC head, Dennis Cook, at its helm.

The show is a little looser than WAC and draws a ...more diverse element most days, mostly walk in traffic from central Lakewood. Basically, the same displays as WAC but with the stuff that the Fairgrounds Committee won't allow WAC memebers to display.

I'll have my Wiley Coyote "I tried everthing until I got my Acme Assault Rifle" T-shirt on.

CavVet,

Make sure those choice words are longer than four letters, you know how dangerous you "gun types" can be. [;D]

I plan to make go to the Lakewood.  My problem is I don't know the area.  Going to be there the 14th for a wedding and well, dumb luck has it, there was a gun show also.  I figured I'd go see if I can find some 'deals'(???).

Ya see, old (not that old) Kaliburz is an Eastsider (gasp!!!)....  Gonna have to map the Lakewood Mall from the motel/hotel.

If anyone knows the 'offical' address of the place, it'll make it easier for me to map it.

If I make it (as in wake up sunday after the wedding)..... I plan to wear a Cavlary Arms t-shirt (if I remember where I put it)  GaryOwen gave me when I bought the 1st CAV-15 in Washington!!!!

Later.

Were it feasible, I'd attend on Sunday, too.

I'm going out to the TV now to prepare to surf the channels for an unbiased report of the "TheGunShowLoophole".

Phil, was that you on KOMO 4?  They ran an interview where someone made the "red to blue" comment.  Of course they followed it with Cease Fire's reply...

I'll be there tomorrow with my daughter.

I guess I got there late and missed all the fun! I'm in Seattle on business and managed to run over to the show after lunch. You all put on a good show, some excellent displays and deals(I left with three full bags!). Being able to meet some of you folks from the boards would have topped off the day.

Hey, none of you bums (AR15 forums cats anyway) stopped by the ValArms table to say hey. CavVet and others from the shooters list did but noone introduced themselves as forum's guys. What a bummer.

While there weren't many AR15ers countering the protest there were several shooter's list guys, both the WSTRT guys are members.

Hey CV! I told you I would be the short haired white guy [;D]

Howdja like my boss?

I was there Saturday morning from about 10 to 1. I saw Tweak at the Valkyrie booth, didn't get a chance to say hi though. Tweak, whose badge were you wearing? I saw CavVet wondering around. I didn't see anyone one else I recognized except Wayne LaPierre and some of the WAC/SAF folks.

Did any one else see the displays on the Luger's, the single shot OSS .45s (Liberty?) and especially the prototype Mauser C96s. Really cool stuff. Actually the single shot 20 mm guns were neat too.

Mine I hope, why, you taking names? [;D]

I didn't get to see much of the show as I was in seemingly constant contact with members of the shooter's list and old friends from when I was selling at the shows full time.

It was great to see all of them, I had forgotten how fun the shows could be from the other side of the table. [:)]

I did make a couple of forays out and about tho, talked to Stokes and actionshooter awhile and looked, in vain unfortunately, for some "Pac-Skin". The sharp checkering on my girlfriend's new AR irritates her shoulder when she shoots. Anybody know of a local source for that (it's from Pachmayr) and one of the Norgon "AmbiCatch"s? (she's a lefty)

Hey, Tweak!

Thanks for holding on to my Remington while I wandered about!  You had me goin' there for a minute when you told me you'd sold it!  We'll have to make the long drive to HWY 12 sometime if we can schedule it.  Thanks again.

I saw Gene Stoner out there in the aisles and we talked for a bit.  He helped me out with directions to some HK stuff to look at.
I saw a couple of familiar faces, but, wasn't sure what the Forum ID's were.
I was hoping to run into CavVet, but, damn, there were SO many people at this show...

My buddy had a great time and found a couple of things he was searching for, too.

Argh, too many id's not enuf faces, ya got me there man.

Well, if we don't know who these names belong to then it's a sure bet that the JBTs will have a hard time sorting it all out. [;D]

Somebody will have to point out Gene Stoner to me some day.

Maybe we need to have a house party somewhere/time and do a meet and greet.

Nah, we'll just go shooting more often. [:)]
