Well, my NYC apartment (I primarily live upstate) is only about 5 minutes from Madison Square Park in Manhattan, where Shake Shack is located, but I figured I would try and recreate their famous burger at home. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics…loaned my camera to my girlfriend. And no pics of GF.

First, mix up your meat. 50% Sirloin, 25% Chuck, 25% Brisket. Make THIN patties, salt and pepper on both sides, and fry in LIGHT coating of vegetable oil and butter in stainless steel skillet. 2 minutes per side. You want to flatten the patties very thin when you first put it into the pan, but not while they are cooking (or you will lose flavorful juices). You also want the meat to stick to the pan somewhat, so it crusts a little. Add cheese and melt on top.

Coat the buns with butter and toast lightly. Coat the top bun with Shake Shack Special Sauce, consisting of mayo, ketchup, garlic powder, a sprinkle of paprika, and a little pickle juice. Place fried patties onto buns, and enjoy!

Now I like to watch TV and eat in my bedroom away from my roommate sometimes, so here is my TV-dinner pic…with my NY City apartment gun…a Remington 870 20 gauge, loaded with #3 buck, slugs on the side, and a Beretta pocket folder.

The meat was about $10 for about a pound and a half once all mxed (didn't cook it all). Buns were cheap, and I had the rest of the ingredients!

stood in line at the Mets game an hour for the Shake Shack, it was good, but not as good as Five Guys or In Out Burger

Five guys is decent...In and out is better...but I still like Shackburgers the most.
