"We believed that the law made it illegal for everyone in New Jersey to own these weapons, except for the very, very tiny minority. I'm shocked. I'm sure the citizens of New Jersey would be shocked," Miller said.

Yeah the public is going to be so shocked cops can own assault weapons.

Try another one Bryan.

We're talking about POLICE, idiot!

"The law contains language that leaves even judges at odds over a key provision. And that fact has enabled an undetermined number of the lethal guns -- despite boasts of politicians -- to be secreted in closets, attics and Gov. McGreedy's enlarged anus"

Not that it's applicable in NJ, but even though the 9th Circuit Court ruled in the Silvera .vs Lockyer case that there is no Constitutional right to own an "assault weapon", they also stated that Kalifornias AWB provision that allowed retired LEOs to own AW's wasn't kosher either.

This is something I'd like to see challenged in every state with an AWB that still allows this exception... MA being one of them.

"SALE OF FIREARMS

But, but... (sputtering), they always said it was okay for cops and military to have guns, just not us "little people". Now they don't even think cops are trustworthy enough to own guns?

I just can't believe it.

Well, all you LEO's... you see the truth now... you guys are in for the same crap we "little people" have to put up with.

And you continue to let your organizations to lend support to these anti-gun groups.

And you wonder why we CITIZENS are pissed.

Do you think the NJ police organizations would now back a repeal of the NJ AWB? No?

From article...Gov. McGreevey has asked Harvey to form a task force to explore how to keep these assault weapons -- which State Police Superintendent Col. Joseph "Rick" Fuentes has warned can pierce police body armor -- out of New Jersey.

Idiot! I bet he'd be surprized what a 300. Win mag can do...

Liars and idiots. You cops in NJ should let these windbags know how stupid they sound, and no one's buying it anymore.

Yeah, well, considering how well cops shoot, it's a damn good thing the politicians are finally getting around to disarming them!

Well 3/4 of police support our rights to own weapons. Don't hate on the cops, man. FOP head stated they will not support any further anti movements. What we really need to do is quit whining the cops get ARs in Jersey and start working to change the system. Get those muther fuckers out of office who want to control guns and vote some pro gunners in there to repeal it. Vote em out - Vote em in. And if all you can do is sit at home and bitch behind your keyboard in mommys basement, then get out and actually do something to change things or keep quiet.
