One of the things I remember from three years ago, in addition to the attacks themselves, was how fast the America-hating enemies within regained their footing in blaming us:

"In the first Crusade, when the Christian soldiers took Jerusalem, they first burned a synagogue with 300 Jews in it and proceeded to kill every woman and child who was a Muslim on the Temple Mount. I can tell you that story is still being told today in the Middle East and we are still paying for it... We've got to defeat people who think they can find their redemption in our destruction. And then we have to be smart enough to get rid of our arrogant self-righteousness so that we don't claim for ourselves things we deny for others."
~ Bill Clinton, (11/7/01)

"The longer the bombing (of the Taliban) goes on, the more susceptible we are to criticism, justified and unjustified, in the Islamic world... with every hour that passes, the United States pays an escalating price in the Arab world, and faces complaints that it is a high-tech bully that only attacks from the air."
~ Sen. Joe Biden, (10/24/01)

"I don't buy the notion Air Force One was a target. That's just PR. That's just spin...
He's a new president and he doesn't have the experience that Bill Clinton had."
~ Rep. Martin Meehan, (D-MA) regarding President Bush not immediately returning to Washington

"Lucky though he was, Bill Clinton never had his shot at greatness. He could lower the jobless rate, balance the budget, and console us after the Oklahoma City bomb. But he never got the opportunity George W. Bush was given this Tuesday (on 9/11): the historic chance to lead."
~ Chris Matthews, (9/13/01)

"Violence begets violence, and I don't know about you, but I want to live a long and happy life, and I want my kids to live a long and happy life.... Think globally rather than locally."
~ Madonna, (9/15/01)

"We have been the cowards lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away. That's cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it's not cowardly."
~ Bill Maher, (9/18/01)

"The horrendous energy that we’re all feeling, and the possibility of turning it into more violence, and revenge, we can stop that. We can take that energy and turn it into something else. We can turn it into compassion, and to love, and to understanding. That’s apparently unpopular right now, but that’s alright."
~ Richard Gere, (10/20/01)

"We abhor terrorism - unless we’re the ones doing the terrorizing...
We have orphaned so many children, tens of thousands around the world, with our taxpayer-funded terrorism (in Chile, in Vietnam, in Gaza, in Salvador) that I suppose we shouldn’t be too surprised when those orphans grow up and are a little whacked in the head from the horror we have helped cause...
In just 8 months, Bush gets the whole world back to hating us again.
If someone did this to get back at Bush, then they did so by killing thousands of people who DID NOT VOTE for him! Boston, New York, DC, and the planes’ destination of California - these were places that voted AGAINST Bush! "
~ Michael Moore (9/13/01)

"look at our Commander-in-Chief...you must be embarrassed that this is the best we have to offer."
~ Michael Moore, (9/19/01)

"[this was] an attack on the world's self-proclaimed superpower, undertaken as a consequence of specific American alliances and actions...
The unanimity of the sanctimonious, reality-concealing rhetoric spouted by American officials and media commentators in recent days seems, well, unworthy of a mature democracy...
And if the word "cowardly" is to be used, it might be more aptly applied to those who kill from beyond the range of retaliation, high in the sky, than to those willing to die themselves in order to kill others."
~ Susan Sontag, (9/13/01)

"When I see an American flag flying, it's a joke."
~ Robert Altman,

"What happened on September 11 was horrific, but this patriotic fever can go too far. America has an almost obscene infatuation with itself."
I'm sure that if those towers had been destroyed without loss of life, a lot of people would have cheered. Everything wrong with America led to the point where the country built that tower of Babel, which consequently had to be destroyed. And then came the next shock. We had to realize that the people that did this were brilliant. It showed that the ego we could hold up until September 10 was inadequate."
~ Norman Mailer, (2/6/02)

"It may have seemed meaningless at the time, but now we know why 7,000 people sacrificed their lives: So that we'd all forget how Bush stole a presidential election."
~ Ted Rall, (9/27/01)

"What has our government done to provoke this action that we don't know about?"
~ Kevin Richardson (Backstreet Boys)

"My daughter, who goes to Stuyvesant High School only blocks from the World Trade Center, thinks we should fly an American flag out our window. Definitely not, I say: The flag stands for jingoism and vengeance and war."
~ Katha Pollitt, (10/8/01)

"While the rest of the country waves the flag of Americana, we understand we are not part of that. We don't owe America anything - America owes us."
~ Al Sharpton, (12/1/01)

"We should work on a peaceful solution as opposed to continuing the global cycle of violence. We shouldn't answer the deaths of thousands of innocent people with more deaths of innocent people."
~ Jessica Gould, 20, sophomore at Harvard

"Punish (Osama bin Laden) in our federal courts."
~ Chris McCall, junior at University of Wisconsin in Madison

"I personally feel that war is never the solution. It's better to sit down and talk and work these things out, rather than going into a violent situation which will inevitably harm innocent people."
~ Andy Ross, 25, University of Wisconsin in Madison

"I think the United States deserves it. It's pretty sad for the poor people, but the United States does the same thing."
~ Patrick Rizzo, student at Berkeley High School

And then there were those who forced city Fire Trucks to take down American flags so as not to "offend" anyone. And Rep. Barbra Lee, the lone dissenter who voted against giving GWBush authorization to use the military against the Taliban. And all those thousands who took to the streets to protest against us going into Afghanistan.

Thank you for yet another excellent post.

Each and everyone of those fucks would go 'buns-up' at the mere drop of a hat.

None of these vermin deserve the title 'American'.

I'm going to start posting this pic everytime I read something like this...

Knowing just "who" your enemys are is a blessing. These pieces of peanut studded, liberal shit are examples of the Socialist left at it's lying assed best. They should be rounded up and die under questioning.

People like this deserve to be killed. While they do have freedom of speach, thought, and expression when they say shit like this they do nothing but harm our country. In the case of the celebrities they sway the minds of the morons who cant form their own opinions into thinking America has fucked the world over for the past 100+ years.

WTF has America done thats evil?

Good post. Fuck those bastards!

These liberals are pretty stupid, you don't conduct a war based on public opinion.
Link Posted: 9/12/2004 1:13:29 AM EST
Liberals are strange people… I cannot understand them, we have them here in Britain and they are just as fucked up as yours. They constantly critisize their own country but NEVER move to these shithole paradises they love so much.

It's a shame we in the west do not yet have the 'Spirit of the Blitz' that gripped Britain after the Germans carried out sustained firebomb rais against London and other Cities in 1940/41. 'Bomber' Harris, the Head of RAF Bomber Command said 'they have sown the wind, and now they will reap the whirlwind'… we should think like that.

In 1943 RAF Bomber Command burned Hamburg to the ground and killed 43,000 germans and the people of Britain said "Good! serves them right for starting this". I cannot see that view being expressed today.

<cough> I do :)

Afternoon mate.

Heh I think some of the point is that we don't have an easy target like a nation state to hit, we have an small organised network spread all over the farking place, and firebombing a town that has given bits of it shelter just makes more martyrs for it. Bit of a bind really.

Cruise missiles are cowardly? Nope, just smart.

I like the comment about Clitinon not being given a chance, perhaps the author would like a time machine to allow the first Trade Centre bomb to work properly, after all, whats a few thousand deaths to make the president look manly when he declares war on the enemy
<Looney Tunes>
What a maroon
</Looney Tunes>

But ya know what in the end the peaceful solution is going to win out, cos we're going to turn Iraq into a modern democratic nation that the rest of the Middle east will look to as a place of success and opportunity, it's a crying shame it take so much blood from both out countries to do it.

Fire trucks with flags "offended people" jeeze, well, they're exactly the osrt of people I want to be offended, good, fark em.

Cheers,
/PHil

Afternoon Phil…

We do have a target… it's 'Hate Central' aka Saudi Arabia. We need to tell the House of Saud, "stop supporting and preaching your hatred of the West or we will nail you"… flattening Jeddah will do as an example if they carry on letting the Wahabbists train 1000's more fanatical Jihaddis.

No matter which way you look at it, the Saudis keep coming into the frame. They export and condone Islamic Fundamentalism because it is the only way the whole rotten crew can hang on to power their country… and if that means rasing hell in the West while crying 'crocodile tears' then they are quite happy to do so. Saudi money underwrites the whole Islamofascist problem… time to call them out on this.

When the Berlin Wall fell, I woried w/o an enemy we would turn on ourselves and we did.

But even now with a enemy, quite possibly more dangerous than the Soviet Union ever was, we are a divided nation.
Link Posted: 9/12/2004 6:27:12 AM EST
There's a time in our history where people like that would get the tar and feathers. And they would deserve it. Today, sadly, too many people just don't seem to care. It's a shame we tolerate such bullshit in this nation anymore. The more that's tolerated, the more they try. Pretty soon these idiots will be taking up arms and joining the fight against us. They seem to build these terrorists up into heroes while turning their backs on their own nation and people. They are scum.

The LibDems are an amazing bunch...their hypocrisy is boundless...

I think we should offer to reimburse any or all of these people for a round trip ticket to any muslim country of their choice if they will live there for one year, if they live through the experience of badmouthing the country they live in, and if they do not kiss the ground when the return to the US of A--if they make it back. I'm not too worried about having to pay up....

These idiots wouldn't last 24 hours in any of the countries they are wringing their hands about if they didn't salute everything their "new" government did.

Any takers? Michael? Richard? Susan? Robert? Joe? Anyone?

Well, that was Churchill's idea. When he ordered the RAF to begin bombing German war industries, his generals protested, saying "Sir! You're ordering us to destroy private property! Civilians could be harmed!"

Churchill wasn't as concerned about the well-being of the enemy as the RAF was. By 1941 and the Blitz, all compassion for German civilians was gone, and Churchill was looking into using anthrax and poison gas against German cities.

Great man Winston Churchill, he understood he was fighting to keep civilization alive in the face of the forces of darkness…

If only Winston was in the saddle today… the RoP® would be cowering in terror at the hell he would be unleashing on them…

Very good quote list, Mac, though you left out the crap Harry Browne spewed immediately afterward.

I say we give the loonies two choices; prison when convicted of treason or exile to a country of our choice. Oh, and you have to leave your property here along with any other assets. all you get is a ticket and $100. Your assets will be sold at auction and the proceeds used to correct the messes you left behind. If you return to the states without permission you will immediately be imprisoned for life.
However we do have a third choice. Since you so despise the country of your birth you will be put on a US naval vessel. You will never be allowed off the ship except to transfer to another one. You will never be permitted to see the United States again. ALA, "The Man Without a Country".
